Based on latest statistics, the number of centenarians in the UK has grown by 100% from 8,300 in 2004 to 16,600 in 2024.
From 2004 and 2024, the total of male centenarians has increased threefold from 910 to 3,100. Over the identical years, the number of female centenarians almost doubled from 7,400 to 13,600.
We are keen to receive stories from those aged 100 or over, their family or friends, about what it has been like to bear witness to the past century’s transformative changes and developments.
